In this blog, we will discuss what we mean by cache, what it does, and how to clear it correctly, in simple terms for you to understand.

In 2026, Cloud-based accounting became easier and more automated, which makes every QBO user's life less hectic. Plus, your browser stores heavy amounts of data to help pages load faster. However, when this stored data becomes corrupted or damaged, it causes conflicts for you. Clearing your cache is like refreshing your browser or system & removing all your clutter in one go.

What exactly are cache and cookies in your browser?

Now, let’s start with the basics & learn exactly what cache & cookies are in your web browser. See, cache files are temporary files used to load websites faster. Look at how the Chrome browser, or any other browser, stores the various elements of a website – logo, images, background, etc. - in its cache memory. When you revisit the same website, the Chrome browser does not have to download everything again. It just goes and fetches the elements stored in its cache memory.

On the other hand, cookies are files that websites use to store all your browsing data. They are designed to make the website and your life easier. But cookies and cache have their own minus points too. And with time, these files can become corrupted, meaning they may contain outdated information that no longer matches the live version of the website.

Moreover, many small files can slow down your web browser, since your computer has to search through a lot of past data before it can find the particular file you are after. This can result in slower performance and high memory usage. That is why it is important for you to clear QuickBooks cache and Inutit to work smoothly.
