Method 2: Modify the name of the CPS folder

  • As you have shut down QuickBooks, you will have to open the Start menu

  • Tap the Windows + E key to activate the File Explorer window

  • Click on This PC

  • Double-Tap the C: Drive option

  • Look for the Program Files (x86) folder or the Program Files folder

  • Access the files

  • You then need to move to the Intuit folder and open the QB folder for the version you are using

  • Open the Components folder > choose the Payroll folder

  • After opening the CPS folder, right-click it > select Rename

  • Add OLD as the name suffix to the folder name. It will resemble CPSOLD

  • Create a fresh CPS folder on your system

  • Paste and copy CPSOLD within the latest created folder
